History

Ballysillan Swifts Football Club was formed in 2012 and was granted entry to the Ballymena & Provincial Intermediate League. The first season ended in promotion to the 2nd Division, and a decision was made to enter a Reserve team in the newly formed 4th Division for the 2013/14 season.

In early 2014 the club amalgamated with Ballysillan Youth, which had 2 teams competing in the South Belfast Youth League, with the ambition of creating a club which would cater for all ages and abilities. All teams began playing under the Ballysillan Swifts name.

In April 2014 the U14 team won Division 2 of the SBYL - officially the club's first trophy. A few days later the Reserve team won promotion from Division 4 at the first attempt, and the following Saturday the 1st team rounded off a fantastic 8 days by clinching promotion from the 2nd Division.
